The Flute Studio at Baylor University
My work with students in the Flute Studio at Baylor University is built upon a foundation of strong fundamentals, paired with a mindful physical and mental approach to the instrument that encourages healthy practice habits, efficient technique, and positive self efficacy. Students also explore the art of repertoire selection, practice critical ensemble and chamber music skills, explore foundational principles of flute pedagogy, and participate in weekly studio classes, all within an inclusive, supportive and collaborative learning environment.

Continuing Education
I engage in a continual, lifelong practice of learning, to refine and strengthen my knowledge of health and wellness principles as they relate to flute performance and teaching. Some of the continuing wellness education I have completed includes:
Mental Health First Aid Course USA
Curated and disseminated by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, this evidence-based, early-intervention course provides education about mental health and substance use challenges. In conjunction with additional QPR training, I have completed the requirements for Baylor University's Mental Health Ally designation.

Essentials of Performing Arts Medicine Certificate Course
Curated by the Perfoming Arts Medicine Association and the American College of Sports Medicine, this course is open to artist-educators and provides knowledge from licensed medical professionals tailored specifically for instrumental musicians including: injury prevention, musculoskeletal and anatomical principals, warm-up techniques, musician mental health, return-to-playing strategies, aural health, and best practice techniques for facilitating rehearsals.

Anatomy Specialization Course:
Musculoskeletal and Integumentary Systems
Part 1, Anatomy Specialization course series, curated by the University of Michigan. Basic foundations of the musculoskeletal and integumentary systems.
